从毛泽东首倡“共同富裕”，到邓小平将“共同富裕”上升至“社会主义的本质要求”，再到习近平总书记指出“共同富裕是中国式现代化的重要特征”，中国共产党对“共同富裕”的认识历经了一个逐步完善的演进过程，并在实践中不断深入。在社会主义革命和建设时期，我们党倡导“共同富裕”，是为了克服工业与农业之间发展不协调的矛盾，使农民能够逐步、彻底地摆脱贫困；在改革开放和社会主义现代化建设新时期，我们党倡导“共同富裕”，是为了“解放和发展生产力”“消灭剥削和贫穷”以及“消除两极分化”，并把它提升为社会主义的本质；在中国特色社会主义新时代，我们党倡导“共同富裕”，是为了彰显中国式现代化的重要特征，说明它是社会主义发展的历史必然，与中华民族伟大复兴目标具有一致性。在实现路径上，要按照比较优势发展经济，在初次分配时坚持效率和公平的统一；要继续完善社会保障体系，扩大物质基础，进一步发挥再分配功能；要促进慈善事业发展，充分发挥第三次分配的有益作用，进而扎实推动实现共同富裕的目标。

Since Mao Zedong first advocated“common prosperity”, Deng Xiaoping has updated this to“the essential requirement of socialism”, and Xi Jinping has further pointed out that“common prosperity is an important characteristic of Chinese-style modernization”. The CPC's understanding of“common prosperity”has experienced an evolutionary process of gradual improvement, and has been deepened in practice. During the period of socialist revolution and construction, the Party advocated“common prosperity”in order to overcome the contradiction of uncoordinated development between industry and agriculture and enable the peasants to get rid of poverty gradually and thoroughly. In the new period of reform and opening up and socialist modernization, the Party advocated“common prosperity”in order to“liberate and develop productive forces”,“eliminate exploitation and poverty”and“eradicate polarization”, and promote it as the essence of socialism. In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the Party advocates“common prosperity”to demonstrate its important feature of Chinese-style modernization, highlighting its historical necessity of socialist development and its consistency with the goal of great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. In the realization path, it is suggested to develop economy according to the comparative advantage and adhere to the unity of efficiency and fairness in the initial distribution. In addition, it is supposed to constantly improve the social security system, expand the material base, and further play the role of redistribution. Furthermore, it is a must to promote the development of charity, give full play to the beneficial role of the third distribution, and then solidly promote the realization of common prosperity.
